Wage: $34.50/hr (with salary adjusted annually for inflation)

JOB FUNCTION:

EverCo Canada Inc. is a leading supplier of high-quality European windows and doors that are customizable to suit any architectural vision. We specialize in offering superior products that blend durability, energy efficiency, and timeless design, catering to both residential and commercial projects. 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Architectural Technician to be part of our team dedicated to providing personalized solutions that meet our clients’ unique needs and preferences. Your primary focus will be in providing technical assistance to help create a curated range of products that not only enhance the visual appeal of any property but also provide excellent insulation, security, and performance. The successful candidate will work with our exclusive supplier from Eastern Europe to bring the excellence of the European windows and doors quality and design to our Canadian clients. To be successful in this position, you will need to be committed to quality standards, be a critical thinker, and have a strong drive to effectively collaborate with Architects and Engineers in Europe to ensure drawings and cross sections are as per plans and Canadian standards.

JOB DUTIES:

  1. Provide technical assistance to professional Architects and Design Engineers in conducting research, preparing drawings, architectural models and specifications as related to windows and doors.
  2. Act as a liaison between architects at the manufacturing site in Albania and affiliated architects here in Canada.
  3. Conduct construction site visits and surveys to gather necessary information for projects and their advancement to ensure accurate product integration Prepare the appropriate construction documents, including floor plans, elevations, shop drawings and cross-sections necessary for approval by architects, contractors or builders.
  4. Create and modify architectural drawings and construct display models, and 3-D virtual models of architectural designs of windows and doors utilizing CAD software.
  5. Analyze building codes and space requirements, as well as site requirements and other technical documents.
  6. Prepare manuals and other specifications as requested before project start or upon completion.
  7. Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations (translating European standards into Canadian).
  8. Help in compiling estimation documents, including but not limited to window and doors quantities (reading from plans), quotes from manufacturer and sub-contractors, different required documents specific to renders.
  9. Provide final approval after reviewing all project cross sections, submit product order and monitor delays of production and delivery to ensure adherence to the agreed contractual deadlines or delays.
  10. Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other team members.
  11. May be required to supervise site technicians on product installation techniques (as per product technical specifications).
  12. Coordinate with other team members to ensure that company processes run smoothly from the receipt of estimate request to estimation sent to product delivery and installation
  13. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new materials, and advancements in window and door technology.
  14. May be required to travel occasionally to Ottawa, Montreal, New Jersey and to Albania for training and project specific production supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Degree or diploma in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 4 years of experience in assisting with the development of architectural design for windows and doors.
  3. Verifiable proficiency in and experience with software such as AutoCAD, Photoshop, Bluebeam Revu, Revit, 3ds Max, etc.
  4. Verifiable proficiency with Orgadata, Logikal software.
  5. Verifiable proficiency in Office 365 with a strong emphasis on expertise in Excel, Word, Planner and PowerPoint.
  6. Advanced knowledge on aluminium and uPVC European systems.
  7. Ability to translate how European products comply with Canadian building codes and standards as applicable to windows and doors designs for residential and commercial projects.
  8. Excellent written, verbal and communication skills in English, and ability to translate Albanian technical sheets into the Canadian format.
  9. Strong attention to detail and superior accuracy in technical drawings.
  10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to own issues through resolution.
  11. Experience with managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  12. Willing to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful.
  13. Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  14. Knowledge or experience of international supply chain operations, related to production planning, inventory management and the logistics of overseas import.
  15. Valid Ontario driver’s license is required and flexibility to travel out of town/country.
